My story to becoming a business owner

I certainly did not plan on opening Silver Fox Carpet Cleaning, or even becoming a carpet cleaning professional, but I am now thrilled to be running my own company.

I spent a total of 9 years in the US Army (both active duty and reserve) right out of high school. While I was in the reserves I started working on my college education and became a bartender for the next 7 years while getting my degree. I am originally from Detroit, Michigan and have lived in Maryland, Texas, Ohio and Tennessee. In 1994, with less than a $1000 dollars to my name and all my belongings in the back of an Isuzu Amigo I landed in Colorado.

I finally finished my degree in 2004 (I hold a BS in Management and Human Relations from Trevecca Nazarene University) and finally got a “real job” in Corporate America. Over the next 13 years I worked for DirecTV, Verizon Wireless and Qwest in various sales management roles.

The "problem" began for me in December of 2009 when I experienced my first downsizing. I was very lucky to land another job within 5 weeks. You would never guess that downsizing #2 occurred in December of 2011. To quote Albert Einstein, "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." I was faced with the decision to once again go to work in Corporate America and expect a different result. Downsizing #2 turned out to be a blessing in disguise and it gave me the courage to take control of my life and open Silver Fox Carpet Cleaning. I am extremely excited to begin this next chapter in my life and look forward to providing exceptional service to you and your family. I live with my Standard Poodle (Augusta National) and Jinxy the Persian/Himalayan cat.
